Well, yes it will but consider the number of websites there are in existence and the fact that your content will set your website apart from any other. Design Your Website In 5 Minutes Or 1 Day

If you find a theme that has the colours you want and a layout you are happy with you’re already finished. But lets say you find one with a layout you like, but it has the wrong colours. What do you do? Well, edit it of course! Most themes have one file inside them called style.css which defines the colours of text background and so on. Spend a day editing this (don’t forget to save regularly in case you break something – happens to the best of us) and you’ll have a design you’re happy with!

Building A Website Quickly

There are a number of steps you need to take prior to building a website, such as deciding on hosting, buying a domain name and getting content ready for your website. For now we will assume you have done all of these. This post will concentrate solely on building a website quickly. We will be using a system where content is separated from design, designing your website quickly is another post.

Building A Website Quickly Using Wordpress

Wordpress boast a 5 minute installation, seems impossible, right? It is entirely true. Your website can be uploaded and online for the world to see within 5 minutes.

To complete the build of your website quickly (within 5 minutes) you will only need to perform these steps:

Download Wordpress from wordpress.org
Unzip the file (it should unzip a folder called “wordpress”
Enter your database details into the wp-config-sample.php file and rename it to wp-config.php
Upload the contents of the “wordpress” folder to the directory you want on your server

And that is your website online.

Is Installing Wordpress Really Building A Website Quickly?

In short, yes it is. Wordpress may be best known as a blogging platform, but a blog is nothing more than a particular type of website. There are many benefits of using Wordpress to run your website on and not many arguments against using Wordpress. We will cover these in future posts!
